Waterfall near the village of Oreshe

It's hard to say that our travels follow a plan when that plan changes from minute to minute. That’s exactly what happened with this adventure. Instead of hiking our favorite route from Papradiste Village to the Cheples Mountain Hut, we redirected ourselves to the Azot area, which is home to perhaps the most beautiful nature in Macedonia⛰️😍⛰️😍

We arrived at the village of Oreshe, a village located on the slopes of the Jakupitsa Mountain. We quickly walked around and explored the old houses through which you can read the history of the place, and then we headed to the most famous monastery in this area – the Monastery of St. George⛪️⛪

This is the starting point of our walk, which leads to a mountain idyll straight out of a movie. To the left of the monastery's parking lot, you'll come across a wooden bridge, and once you cross it, the trail will take you directly to the waterfall. The trail is marked and is about 1.5 kilometers long in one direction 🤩 🤩

For all of you who complained that you can't walk much, that you're not the type for long hikes in the mountains – this is your chance! 😍 😍 A short and easy trail, and we recommend it to anyone who finds themselves near this beautiful nature! We’ve added the Oreshe village waterfall to our list of the most beautiful waterfalls in Macedonia❤️❤️

If you're up for a full-time experience, you can reserve a room in the monastery's guesthouse and spend the weekend in fresh air, at 1,100 meters above sea level 🙌🏽 🙌🏽

We’re waiting for you to visit and share your impressions with us!

See you in the mountains,

Ana and Mane
